Where are all the donut lovers? They are my absolute favorite! I do not know if it is their fluffy texture or the amount of variety, but I have always loved them. And this maple glaze for donuts recipe is incredible!

I have gone through phases regarding flavors. There was a time when I preferred donuts filled with custard and another with marmalade, but right now I am a fan of maple frosting. Is anyone else as obsessed as me?

As I am a baker, I could not help myself – I needed to make them! It took me a while but I finally found the best maple frosting recipe for donuts there is, and I want to share it with you. It comes from Sally’s Baking Addiction.

As a tip, prepare the glaze before you start making your donuts. Letting it rest will allow it to thicken and cool down, making it easier to coat them. You will end up with a thicker, more luscious glaze that doesn’t crack! Everyone will love it.

This recipe takes about 10 minutes and makes enough for 8 to 10 donuts, depending on how large the surface area to cover is. Remember to pipe your mixture into your donut tray to help clean up. You can also use a muffin tray! Any shape works with this glaze.

The ones she makes are easy and fast to make, as they take less than 15 minutes to bake. Plus, the batter can be mixed by hand.

If you don’t have any powdered sugar on hand, don’t fret as there are other ways you can make the maple glaze for donuts. While powdered sugar is a traditional ingredient for making glazes, you can still make one without it.

  • two tablespoons of coconut cream
  • 1/4 cup of water
  • one teaspoon of vanilla extract

Directions:

  1. Add all of the ingredients to a blender or food processor and blend until the glaze is smooth
  2. Then, add your maple glaze to your donuts or other baked goods.

You can also make your own powdered sugar with granulated sugar and cornstarch. To make:

  1. Add two cups of powdered sugar and two tablespoons of cornstarch to a food processor or blender.
  2. Blend on high speed for 30 seconds and then check the texture of the sugar. If you can still feel granules, keep blending. However, if it is smooth, light, and fluffy then it is ready to use. You can then proceed to use your homemade powdered sugar to make maple glaze for donuts.
